It's a "
pop art" kind of piece for this CT's
Bubblegum Machine challenge. And, just happens to fit in nicely for Valentine's too. You know me, always liking to challenge myself and mixing things up, I decided to make this have that 1960's sort of feel. Bubble gum machines are, after all, getting kind of retro too. :)
I had a fair bit of fun with this and hope you did too? Time to find out what you guys did.... I'll be visiting everyone who signs up tonight and again tomorrow. See you then.
This is wonderful, perfect for Valentine's Michael, love that it is full to the brim with gum!
ReplyDeleteAnd gum ready to pop, I might add. :)
Deletehow romantic! look at all those hearts! I don't think about a certain era or time period when I work on a piece but I like that you do.
ReplyDeletenice new blog makeover but I still like the dotty hill name though.
have a lovely day.
Thank you, Lissa. I have Alex to thank for the makeover as, like you, she likes doing that. I didn't get around to it so she jsut asked for my input and did it herself.
DeleteYes, i was jsut thinking playing off of the idea of bubblegum going "pop" when you chew it and then thought of the pop art idea and then with my colours decided it was getting very valentines so went with it, although my initial drawing already had hearts! :)
I love the colors and style you did this in. I always have good intentions to join in and never get it done. Today, I hope, my inspiration follows me through until I complete one.
ReplyDeleteAw, you'll get there and check back here later today as a new co-op is coming and there is a great giveaway! Woudl love to have you join in and even if the piece is not complete that is ok too. Thnk you, Sandy, for you comment and nice to meet you! :)
DeleteThat is one full bubble gum machine–will there be room for all the quarters? :-) Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is it looks like it only takes quarters but doesn't give you any gum! I took out the dispensing tube below as I found it distracting. :) Hahah
DeleteThis looks SUPER cute and oh so fun! LOVE your color choice, too, boo! Rachel is right, this is going to be a great greeting card. :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww thank you, Smootie! Thank you for always pushing me and supporting me in my art. Love you! :)
DeleteThis is a sweet piece and yest perfect for Valentine's.
ReplyDeleteIt feels loving and cheerful.
