Cabin Fever

All rights reserved and all artwork copyrighted by each artist. Examples (from left to right, column by column):

How was the cabin picnic for you? Did you meet anyone new, like Tammie from Creative Tuesdays' days or my long time British ex-pat blog friend, Mary, who you can always trust to bring a breath of fresh air? In case you wanted to see all the entries from everywhere, here they are. Again, those with the "@" symbol are ones who did not sign up here but posted to Instagram or Twitter instead.

Well, I don't know about you, but I had a grand time popping by, seeing your various offerings. (Some cabin fevers are better than others, you know.) Thank you! Incidentally, I brightened up a few pieces in Photoshop (using "curves" for approximating the picture to look closer to your actual art). If any of you want that image, let me know and I'll send you a link.

As mentioned last week, since I'm doing a giveaway every month, each of you gained an entry for this week's contribution. Three more weeks and opportunities to go! Just this morning, Alexandra and I were discussing ideas for the next basket of goodies. I so love shopping for those; it truly brings me joy. More on that later so stay tuned.

Next Wednesday, we'll picnic again but this time under an UMBRELLA. It's going to be varied, I'm sure, from scribbles to fun ideas, from clever to adorable and everything in-between! Just watch out for those "soggy bottoms," as Mary Berry might quip!

  1. Another great montage Michael. A little late in visiting others but have now done so and left comments. Life's a little busy at present as am exhibiting some textile art for three weeks at my local art gallery.

    1. You know, it takes a long time so whenver one can, I say and if you can't that's fine too. It is so lovely when others pop by though to learn more. As it is, wishing you great success on your textile are! I hope you post about it on your blog as I'm sure it's all fabulous and would love to see how it's displayed!

    1. you and me, Christine. That is wh yI do a montage although it does take a lot of work and time, as I like to go in and fix any lighting issues as well as figure out best way to show pieces so that one is not competing against another with same colour or style (like pencil) so each can stand on its own merit. I enjoyed too focusing this time on the particular point sof interest in each piece. So apprecaite your comments. Now, I jsut need to find Serena's address so I can mail that package. :) I tell you, I really should have been a butler! And to think, my grandparents lived such different lives with butlers, even my mother when very young! All that before everything was left to my alcoholic uncle who kept it all and dwindled it all away to himself! Sad.

  3. that is so very sad about the money and history keeps repeating itself no matter how we try not to.

    1. History does and relatives do things like that and far worse. I found Serena's address btw. Her hamper of goodies is on its way...all the way to OZ. :)

  4. Michael, all the little 'cabins' look so adorable in a collage - thanks for sharing,
If you use PicMonkey they are very easy to make. Do you use Photoshop for your version?
Tell me about families and Wills, or worse no Wills - and people's cruelty when it comes to sharing the money and possessions of loved ones! I think many of us could share horror stories on this subject!!!

I'm working on 'Umbrella' already - and loving it. Thanks to you and Alex for giving me the opportunity to get back to a little creating - I desperately needed a change.
