For this go around, I took a baby's or toddler's take on "boats!" :) Yes, it's super cutesy but, hey, I rather like it. I feel like Ernie and his rubber duckie about to break out into song, if I could actually sing like Alex or others, that is! So, a lil' splashy soggy picnic this go around, but how about you? Can't wait to see what each of you have done...
All that lovely sudsy foam makes me want to be sharing that bath with rubber ducky and the boat. Any little boys dream bath time. Very super cutsey sketch, as you say. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I can't recall ever having any of thee toys in my baths, or a bubble bath, come to think of tit, just regular baths but yes, so do agree! (ha, I recall playing with those lil' plastic toy soldiers doing amphibious D-Day landings and such instead!) Thank you.

The soapy green tiles were a must --reminding me of my great aunt's bathroom (not that I ever took a bath there but was always intrigued by how old fashioned it looked even then!) :)

Yes, those were rather intimidating and you might be suprised at jsut how long they took--layers upon layers of literally scribbling around and around, building it up slowly whilst hoping not to overdo it! By the end of the night I was seeing swirls galore before hitting bed. Thank you!

You know, Alex's first love is actualyl music and is her first talent. She plays piano and violin and has written both music and lyrics for 100s of songs. In fact, Mary, she used to travel around the country on her won visiting orphanages, foster care centres and such for abused or neglected children, sharing with the kids and staff her won story of overcoming to sinpire them that they too could do it, in spite of whatever crummy hand they were given. DeleteHa, someone really had fun with those tubby toys! The bubbles not only blow me away, but the towel and the brush are so textural. What a great contrast between those textures and the shiny tiles. And the use of the primary colors is wonderful. Really made me smile!

ReplyDeleteI feel terrible that I missed this week's Scribble Picnic as I've been enjoying them so much. I had all the ideas in my head but never got the chance to get them down on paper. I did have a good reason though...we have an ongoing medical emergency with my Mum and, on Wednesday, we were sitting in the Eye ER for most of the day. I won't bore you with the details but a CT scan showed Mum has aneurysm behind her eye which is pressing on a nerve causing double vision. We were sent home on Wednesday only to get called back to emergency on Thursday (yesterday, our time) where she was admitted for further tests. Of all days for that to happen as we were being heavily battered with the severe backlash of Cyclone Debbie....schools were closed, roads flooded and closed, businesses even closed by noon. I can tell you the past few days have been a nightmare!
Anywhoo, I will be back at the hospital today but I'm hoping to visit everyone's blogs over the weekend. :)
P.S. - I went and watched Alex singing the duet...AWESOME! I have seen/heard a few of her clips before...all so good...she has such a beautiful voice. :)
