Scribble Picnic's Winter Giveaway
It's the New Year. Time to celebrate with another giveaway picnic! It's been a while since the last one so this collection is extra special. There's some fabulous richly pigmented Loew Cornell paints, Blackwing drawing pencils and Rifle Paper Company's beautifully designed writing pencils, as well as, of course, an assortment of various English goodies—even mince pies and with velvety, small batch Fort Collins' Nuance Chocolate thrown in to ring in the year! :) But, what, pretell, is in that Harrods bag?! Maybe the winner will show us later? ;) But, yes, it's just come all the way from there so you know it's got to be good.
Before we get to who the winner is though, let me start by reminding you that each person who participated was given an entry per time signed up, all the way back to July from when we last did this. (Most of you had quite a few entries but even our newest member, Laurie, was entered for joining us this last go around.) All in all, there were 249 entries (not including Alexandra) with Tie it Up having the most sign ups. Curious. That would have seemed the hardest to envision, so says to me you aren't afraid of more abstract concepts, right? Hmmm... hehe, methinks I need to keep challenging! :) Conversely, the themes that were the most apparent, Spinning Tops and Toy had the fewest participants! Fascinating. What does that say? Was it a mere product of timing or maybe some themes appeal to you more than others? I'd love to hear your thoughts here and any ideas you have for future prompts. Thank you.
So, without much ado, let's see how I put this together. Are you excited yet? If you haven't won, just remember your chances are waaay better here than any Powerball Lottery and it doesn't cost you a thing! Well, other than a few spent creative brain cells and a good ol' right brain workout which we probably all need anyway. :) OK, thanks for playing along. The new prompts are up btw (see sidebar). See you next week.... Oh! And the winner* is....
*If you haven't already contacted me in the past, simply fill out your contact details here and when my personal assistant (umm....that is, Alexandra!) is over her bronchitis, this will be mailed to you el pronto. Enjoy! :)
How exciting and a well deserving winner, thanks so much for doing this and such a generous package!
ReplyDeleteThe odds are stacking in your favour, dear Christine! Its surely going to be you one day. I am always as excited as the rest of you to find out. I had already bought all thee things beforehand so let's jsut hope the winner likes chocolate! :)
DeleteOh that was so exciting Michael! I actually shouted out "Wanda!!!" Lol! Congratulations WANDA!!! What a beautiful package, and how sweet to have such a lovely giveaway! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that caught my eye was the Flake! Lol...we can't get those here and I tried them once when I was..somewhere, and I don't remember where and LOVED them! :)
You can't? In Canada? Wow. Well, these are from a specialty import store, as it is.
DeleteI know what you mean - haha, truly, ever time I look at the videos I get excited all over again! I love it.
Nope...but Laurie just gave me a tip on where I might find them! Next time I'm in that town, I'll be on search duty! :)
Deleteoh such a deserving winner, I am so happy for her,, what an amazing prize!!
ReplyDeleteWell, keep playing Laurie and it may be you. I will visit each of you later today. Thank you for playing along.
DeleteOh my I'm speechless..... I can't believe I am actually the winner of this. I never in a million thought it would be me. I won one of your lovely packages several years ago...before Scribble Picnic, and it was truly the best present ever. I'm so excited. Everyone deserved it...but I can't be sorry the lot fell to me. Thanks so much Michael and Alexandra...My heart is overflowing!!!
ReplyDeleteI know! Aw, yes, that was a long time ago and her you are. Christine's turn is surely coming as the two of you have followed the various art co-ops the longest, I think, along with Lissa who won once but didn't want anything. OK, just be sure i have your address and i will send you the above plus a note to go with it. Now, if only we all could have had film of you when you heard your name! That would have been fun! Alex thinks you will really love the paints as they are very high quality pigmented cakes. Anyway, I'm thrilled for YOU! I just hope you like chocolate. Can't recall! Oh, and there is a small pot of lemon curd in there too for hot buttered toast and such. :)
DeleteI do like chocolate, and love lemon curd and so look forward to using the new paints...My it's Christmas in January for me. Thanks again so much Michael.
DeleteCongrats Wanda!!! What a lovely assortment - sure to keep you comforted and creative!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so for her. Keep playing and it will be you one day, dear Lorraine! this was extra special as it was two quarterly giveaways collected for combined into one! :)
DeleteLucky Wanda. . . . . . . . you are turning her into a Brit with all those goodies Michael!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWanda - congratulations, you certainly deserve to win - and please show us what hidden gem is in the Harrods bag please!!!!!!!!
Michael - remember how we stuck the Flake into an ice cream cone to make a 99?
Oh happy memories! I LOVE 99s! In fact, I actualyl bought one for Alexandra when I first took her to England. It wans't Cornish or Devonshire ice cream but still good and bastly overpriced since it was near Harrod of all places, in Knightsbridge!
DeleteGuess what? I still ahve an English Christmas pudding I never got aroudn to sharing so as it last until 2019, I will be sure to sample it with peeps this next Chrsitmas! In the meanwhile though, so very unlike me, it is going to have to stay around as Clutter! ugh. :O
The Harrods item is fun for sure. :) Thank you for being a good sport, as always. Can't wait for when YOU win one of these days...but as it is, you already make things far better than anything one can buy in the store anyway! ha
Oh, and Alex loved it btw. :) She said they were the BEST ice cream cones ever!
DeleteWhat a nice giveaway, good luck to everyone. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteBLoggi, if you can collage you can join in! Don;t ahve to draw. :) Thanks.
DeleteOh wow...look at all the goodies! Thank you for the awesome comment at my blog on my New Years Drawing and for the nice comments about your airport stop over in Nashville Goo Goo's are also made here in Nashville! Matter of fact we have a lot of things, you need to come back and stop over to tour downtown Nashville some time. You will love it! And you are welcome to our growing city at anytime! Looking forward to this years upcoming themes to get us involved! I stopped over to look at some of your work and I totally love the Yellow Brick Road one. Wizard of Oz being my fav movie of all times! Maybe at some point that could be a theme of yours! haha.... Heres hoping you have an amazing New Year!
ReplyDeletePam, you totally made me smile! Funny you woudl say that, as Shhhh...but I in fact already have that in my mind as one of the themes I plan to do later! In fact, between us, so to speak, I plan to tie in more literary references, judgin from the audience we have here.
DeleteThank you SO much for the idea and giving me ideas. Keep them coming.
I'd LOVe to see more of Nashville one day. It sounds fabulous! If we are back there, want to meet for coffee or such in your fine city? That would be fun.
Congrats to Wanda on the win and I love your accent! haha
ReplyDeleteNot terribly strong there and horridly repeated myself with redundant use of "see" and other such words. It was very rushed, let me tell you. You know, Alex keeps me on her toes when she's sick and needy. :D Awww. heh.
DeleteCongratualtions to Wanda! Michael what a wonderful giveaway and a delightful way to show the picking of the winner. : ) Looking forward to seeing the Picnic themes and various creations in the coming year and, hopefully, adding a few scribble entires through my own mediums. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, if you ever joined us, even for one, that would be dreamy, Nicolas. You know, being a 3d artist, you could definitely do a 3nd piece, if you wanted or the initial rendering for it if it fit the theme. :)
DeleteSpeaking of which, I wonder who you would conjure up for "Favourite fiction character"for our next picnic prompt this Wednesday. I can only imagine. You might rather enjoy the post I just put up on that, if you have a mo. Thank you.
wahoo Wanda, that looks like a treasure of goodies!
ReplyDeleteWhoo Hoo! Congratulations, Wanda! Enjoy your fabulous prize!
ReplyDeleteYou do put together nice prize packages. Congratulations to Wanda!
