Picnic (Creative Tuesdays)

I so enjoyed drawing the hedgehog last time round that I decided to explore how a family of them might enjoy their very own picnic up on some grassy knoll somewhere. Those fat little hedgies are so plump and cute. I want to poke their soft bellies, watching their needles stick occasionally to the picnic blanket as they endlessly bounce up and down, much to their parents delight and laughter too. Can't you just imagine their darling squeals of delight? :)

Time to check out what other picnic offerings the rest of this co-op has offered.... With a whole extra week, who knows what we will find?!

  1. Oh Michael, how adorable. I was just thinking about Alexandra's hedgehogs in her sketches. Looks like they know how to have a really fun picnic....Those kids are sure enjoying the tablecloth toss. What a fun picnic. Love it.

  3. Michael,
What action in this piece - joy, and fun. It looks like a trampoline for hedgehogs. I love the flying watermelon.
    Thanks for the linkup,
    Blessings,

  7. what a fun drawing. I like it. I like the grassy greens and the touches of red on the blankets, the towel on the basket, the watermelon. the cloud shapes are great too. maybe you should have put an elephant in the clouds? I see a lot of watermelons at picnic or at least when I search for picnic food, there always seems to be watermelons - I guess they are picnic food. again, fun drawing.

    have a lovely day

    1. SO, do you eat watermelon? The only time I ever have it is at a picnic, funnily enough, but then again, I haven;t been to one in years come to think of it. Tooo funny. Thank you for noticing the details. :)

    2. I think watermelons are consider summer food and that's why they appear at picnics. I don't actually like watermelons in particular & I have not eat them recently. I do see them all the time when they have those fruit cups.

hope you have a lovely day.
