Plant a Seed and Watch it Grow!

I decided to go with a more traditional interpretation for this one, following along with that imaginary lil' redhead from my entries last year for "tie it up" and "gift-wrapped" pieces. Perhaps, this is a little further into the future, and here we find her ready for the growing season. She's got her heart and watering can filled to the brim and is hoping to blossom one of those incredible magical plants... or at least a lil' one to box up and give to a friend. :)

OK, ready to shower us with your own pieces? Sign up below!

P.S. Please note: I will be dashing off to central Kentucky in about a fortnight (seeing Alexandra whilst she's still there for a while longer helping family). As such, we're going to have a one week break and skip April 18th, sorry to say... but that only means you'll have even more time for the prompt after that! :D

    1. It's funny you note that, actually, Christine, as doing the clouds and earth were actually my favourite parts of the creation process. Thank you.

    3. Yes, until the end of May most likely, so it;s good I'm going out for a while.

Thank you and lovely, of course, having you at our picnic this week too. I always love to see your renditions. Thank you so much, again.

  3. Oh I love the idea of your picture, but as we have an inch of snow on the ground this morning it is hard to imagine the reality it represents. Such a cute young lady and thoughtful too ... love it, Micheal. Glad you are going to visit Alexandra and family. It is hard to be apart for young lovers like yourselves. See you next week ...

    1. Oh gosh, you are making me blush now, Andrea! Ha. Well, we are firmly middle aged, but thank you for the sweet sentiment. you know, with texting, we are only fingertips away, as it were. Really helps...and I'm forcing myself to expand my culinary skills in the kitchen, so that's good. The food isn't always but it's certainly always pretty. And hey, as a designer, that superficial quality is actually quite important to me anyway. ha. And yes, I'm sure we will have more snow here too. Still very brown here, actually.

  4. My tulips are needing water too - 60F already this early morning - rain expected later thankfully. Lovely piece Michael - hope all is well with Alexandra's family - safe travels. I'll make a note to skip April 18.

Apologies to the group for not leaving comments last week - still trying to catch up and have so many posts of my Patagonia trip yet to do as Internet was impossible on the ship!

    Happy Spring!

Yes, I'm looking forward to reading all about it in your marvelous adventure write ups accompanied with travel magazine quality photos. Can't wait to find the time to do that un-rushed! In fact, I am thinking of bringin my iPad and doing just that at the airport with my change over flights. :) Thank you so much, as always.

  5. I'm ready to shower you with my ideas! :) Your little redhead is adorable, does she have a name? I think she will see some magic from her garden this year for sure! Nurturing a garden is so fulfilling. :) Your drawing is so pretty Michael!

    1. That's one thing I miss with our rental is not having a garden to really much about in but on the other hand, it;s lovely that all I have to do is mow! :) Ha, I actually did come up with a name for her but now have completely forgotten it, come to think of it. Oh dear me. What would say might fit her well?
Thank you for your lovely comment, Rain.

  6. Your little lady is quite sweet. She looks so sincere with her task.
The color of the earth next to the sky is striking and beautiful. Love your sketchy cloud style too. Wishing you a wonderful time away.

    1. Thank you, Tammie. Yes, I liked doing the earth and figuring out the right colour for it the best. I've been really into dark sort of rusty reds lately for whatever reason.

  7. You have such variety in your wonderful illustrations. From whimsical, to real and this little maid is so cute and so right out of my 1st grade reader....Dick and Jane.

So glad you get to see Alexandra....I know you two hate to be apart. Have a good and safe trip and give Alex my love.

    1. Yes, variety is the spice of cretivity, shall I say? Ha. thank you, Wanda. I am ok with being apart for a good casue and Alex being there is definitely a good thing. It is also forcing me to expand my culinary boundaries, which I've wanted to do too, so not bad all round. With the wonders of texting, we are only moments away anyway, as it were. Thank you. I will pass on the good wishes.

  9. What a perfectly blustery Spring day, with just a bit of a chill, hence her lovely sweater!
I'm not going to make it with an entry this week, not even last minute, but do hope to check out all the fun watering cans at the picnic.
By the way, do comments here sometimes need to be approved? I'm quite certain I commented (maybe twice even) on your fun, polka-dotted hen last week, but I don't see it anywhere.

    1. Now worries, Jolene, and yes, if they are over three days old I have to approve them. I do that so if they are on older pieces, it ensures I see them to comment back. otherwise I might miss them altogether. i did see you other comments. Thank you so much, as always.

  10. Nice....great job with the watering can, makes me think of spring and all the flowers that will be coming up from that little lady watering the garden with your watering can.

    1. Yes, we so need Spring to come here. It's still quite barren and definitely brown.
