Meet the Artist

Here's my Meet Me piece for Creative Tuesday's Meet n' Greet! Ha-ha, I so had fun with this and am sure you did too! What's quite funny is this is exactly what I wore for work today. In fact, I almost always have black polished shoes on and usually one of my three v-neck sweaters. Aside from the dark purple one, there's a dark grey and a maroon one as well, much like the t-shirt's colour showing through here.

Alex has given her stamp of approval so that's good. It's legit! She says it's very me... "even down to your rosy cheeks and [err] the crumbs on your sweater!" Whilst my tea has long been consumed, I can sit here satisfied knowing that no crumbs were left from my tag-a-long girl's scout cookie so enjoyed earlier for my ritualistic dunking. (I will also have you know, btw, that was well deserved after that huge salad earlier.) And... OK... I must admit there are indeed some [popcorn] crumbs around the place. Oh dear me, I really must talk to Alexandra about her mess! Heh. :D Nooo, I mean, surely my table manners are far too impeccable to EVER be so...um, err.... expressive?!

Well, my suspicion is this theme's going to be quite engaging for all. Can't wait to learn a few new fun things about each of you! Oh, and don't forget too that I plan to do a montage of all our pieces for this go around. It will be quite a keepsake, I'm sure. :)

    1. Michael..I didn't read the instructions very well, sorry I didn't add my likes and dislikes, but for some reason thought "meet me" was more about my background as an artist.
However, I did leave a reply on your comment with a few likes and dislikes. Hugs.

  2. Hee. Melt. Thank you. Hahaha. You are so fun.....whereas I am so messy! Well, OK, I am actually quite a neat nick but NOT when it comes to eating...or more specifically, trying to keep the crumbs on the plate! Too funny.

    1. Yes, I kept cracking myself up, actually. The part that took the longest was getting the text jsut right, funnily enough. I couldn't decide on the right font and then went for legibility at the smaller size for a quicker read. I rather shocked myself that the initial pencil then pen drawing was done in one sitting at SB and even looked fairly like me. how weird. Never been terribly good at drawing myself, must say.

  4. Michael,
Just have a moment to check yours. Then breakfast and I will visit the others. I love this. Mine is not crisp and clear - once again trying pencil crayons on the wrong paper. Love to "see" you - the real you.
    Blessings,
    Jania

  5. fun drawing. I like the crumbs, it makes it more realistic, not all of us are neat eaters, me included. it's interesting how we see ourselves- you know, sometimes sort of neat and proper and other times, messy and lively and lived-in.

I like your list as it is less about material things & more people-related. quite a nice portrait here.

    have a lovely day.

  6. I so enjoyed reading your lists and all the comments surrounding yourself. A man who can make fun of himself, so un-British! Somehow I would never have imagined that you were so messy snack-wise. I bet your doggie loves this! Thank you for sharing this in the way you have Michael.

    1. HAha, so true about the pups. He LOVES it when I eat popcorn wher ehe is bound to get some morsels too. Lol.

Well that is interesting. I've always found that the English are good at making fun of themselves for comedic effect but that might have changed over the years. Like I always say, the best humour is at your own expense. The safest too. :)

  7. I love this! Aw, mine is all about animals (so I am definitely on board the no hunting part of your list), and I all too relate to the part about losing one's keys and phone. This is such a great illustrated portrait! Wonderful job ^_^
