A Storm's perfect for a picnic!
Oh, we don't mind a spot of stormy weather, now do we? In fact, we rather relish it. That's our challenge for this week's Scribble Picnic, after all. :) So, put your wellies on and let's go splash about in the creative tempests below. I'm thinking a quick cuppa might be in order beforehand. How about you? I dare say though that lil' hedgie here, isn't quite as fond as we might be about such things. Aw, poor lil' fellow.
P.S. BTW, as indicated on the side bar, we have a whole two week break with school over and summer plans beginning for many. By the time this gets posted, I'll be waking up to Alexandra finally back home, her "folks" here and places to take them to around this area. It's actually been quite cold and rainy lately too, but again, I don't mind — it just means it's that brief period of time (a few weeks) when it's weirdly green here in this otherwise arid, rocky, high plains Colorado desert.
This is such a cute fun piece Michael! At last, Alexandra's back home, happy days!
ReplyDelete:) Indeed.
DeleteOh your hedgehog is so cute! Poor thing...I know the feeling, I hate getting my hair wet too ;) Though I do love a good storm. Every time there is a thunderstorm in the forecast, my Alex and I park ourselves out in the hammock on the screened in veranda and watch, it's a lot of fun! (As long as we are safely indoors!!!) Have a fun time on your "stay"-cation! :) June 6th seems so far away, but you're right, it's quite the busy season lately...we've been prepping the yard and garden, taking care of the seedlings, putting up and fixing fences and living outside as much as we can! Just a few more weeks before I can transplant all of my seedlings :)
ReplyDeleteThat will be wonderful, Rain! Enjoy.
DeleteThank you.
A lil' hedgie hoggie always makes my heart sing - and this cutie out in a rainstorm is so adorable! His accoutrements are so pulled together in yellow and white, and I love how you have drawn/painted the feeling of wind, rain and puddles Michael.
ReplyDeleteJust fabulous!
Know you will be busy with your company coming back to CO with Alexandra - what a good time and long awaited holiday you will give them. So, although no picnicking here for a while, we'll all be busy getting ready for summertime activities!!!!
We're off to the coast this coming weekend - supper with friends and some ocean viewing, perhaps even a paddle hopefully. Very rainy, stormy weather truly is on the way though.
Hugs - Mary
Ooh, that all sounds so fun, Mary! Enjoy. I STILL need to catch up with you but need to find the time to read through all your posts! :)
DeleteSinging in the Rain....What a happy little hedgehog, and how he make me smile and lift my spirits today. Very exhausted after a whirlwind trip up North for my dearest to have a Memorial Service for a dear friend who passed this past week.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a stormy weather painting I did years ago so I wouldn't miss out. So glad we have a break so I can have time to really put in the effort. As always love and hugs.
Thank you so much. I loved your entry.
DeleteSo at least this little Heggie has the advantage of an umbrella ... most don't, you know. Twas very kind of you to help him out that way :) I love a good storm and yes, at last things are green here too. I will miss our picnic for two weeks, but it is a very busy time for me as well (we are moving) so I will relish the extra time to take care of business here. Have a wonderful time with Alexandra and family ... Colorado has endless places to go that are almost always breathtaking. Be well, be safe and see you if a few weeks ...

Thank you, Andrea. Where are you moving to or is it still in town?
DeleteYes, lot sof places to go to and some we want to go to but with her stepdad's back, we will keep driving trips short. :) We had a lovely day recently up in the near by mountains in estes park so that was good, 6 hours later! lol.
And the next prompt is "classic" ... what could you possibly mean by that? My mind is already spinning ... this should be fun :)

I have a pinterest board with classic design that might pop up some ideas for you: https://www.pinterest.com/a_dotty_hill/classic-style/. That is what I was thinking--whether watch design, clothes, cars, architecture, or whatever. :) The possibilities are endless.
DeletePoor, cute hedgehog! Hopefully this is one of those quickly passing storms, and he'll be able to enjoy just splashing in the puddles soon!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Alexandra is back home with you, but know her other family members appreciated your sharing of her time with them.
Can you believe it... I linked with seven hours left before the linky expiration, unlike last week when it was just under the wire again! :-)
I know! Amazing! :)
DeleteYour little hedgie looks like the Gene Kelly of hedgies happily dancing (and presumably singing) in the rain. What fun! I just posted how oddly green it's been here too this spring with all the wet weather we've been having. I hope you have a wonderful visit with the extended family. Welcome back Alexandra.
ReplyDeleteHa, yes, it does and I thought that but made sure to show his grimaced countenance as such.
DeleteSorry about the double link - I didn't realize the mistake with the first one but got a head's up from Rain.
ReplyDeleteIt happens. :)
DeleteOH goodness, what an adorable Hedgie!!! Too cute being careful where he steps in the rain puddles. Beautifully portrayed, Michael...the yellow accents are such a lovely touch! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOn June 6th I will be getting a double molar extracted. It was either that or the partially erupted wisdom tooth beside it which was causing me some issues. One had to go. I may be a little worse for wear but will see how I go as to whether or not I will be at the picnic that week. :)
OH, OK, Serena. Well, maybe you can do something ahead of time and then schedule it to post on the day? If you let me know beforehand, I can find the link and add it for you! Good luck on that nasty extraction! I'm sure that won't be thrilling, for sure.
DeleteThank you for letting us know (As you did on your post too) and for your comment above. It's hard not to draw hedgies as super cute. Hee.
This is quite adorable Michael.
