Lil' Monster's Spicy Dreams!
This little chap just loves his spicy pepper snacks. Munch, munch, munch. All morning long Monster eats to his heart's content then sleeps the afternoons away, enjoying that comforting burn down in his furry belly — every monsters dream!
If you like a lil' bit of pepper crunch to your sandwiches, feel free to pick up one. I'm thinking though, let sleeping "dogs" lie. How about you?
This is the cutest monster! It is a beautiful piece come to life in colour and with spicy peppers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine. He was fun to imagine.
DeleteWhat a great little monster with his peppers! I love the colors and the little guy. Great job as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pam. I actually could have pushed this more...like you did with your delightful interpretation. Spicy indeed! :)
DeleteAhhh ... such pleasure on the face of your monster and yes, the spice of life is essential to happy, wholesome living. As always, I love your art, Micheal. FYI, Rain helped me get my instagram going and I have started posting sketches on andrea.priebe.14 :) Will wonders never cease :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Oh, fab news! So glad you got IG working. OK, thank you Rain, then! Please be sure to include the #dailysketchplan2018 so we can find all your pieces! Lovely to have you on board now!
DeleteThank you for your support on my art! so appreciated! :)
Looks like we're all about spicy red peppers today Michael!
ReplyDeleteLove your monster - and the details in your mixed peppers is great, they even look fresh-picked and crunchy. . . . . . and I'm certain are hot and very spicy!!!!
Can't wait for my sad-looking dried up grass to come back green and lush like here on your hillock! This monster knows a good place to nap.
Hillock! Wow, I haven;t heard that word or even read it in about 20 years I suspect! Love it. Wish I had thought to say that. Oh well, I added it as a hashtag on my IG account. Thank you. Yes, I guess hot peppers makes sense really. Ha. I had some hot and spicy fun with this one. :)
Deleteoh my gosh I love this and when I read the part of warmth in his furry belly it made me smile so big!!!!
ReplyDeleteOOh, I love reading that. THAT makes me smile too. :) Thx, Laurie!
DeleteThis is SO GREAT Michael! What talent, I love your spicy monster!!! But I wouldn't bother him, I think he loves those peppers too much! :)
ReplyDeleteRight on, Rain! thakn you! and thank you for helping Andrea above with IG! Yay, another person following along with the IG daily sketch plan. I lvoe seeing what you are doing. So with it!
DeleteOh what a lovable spicy monster. Who could not fall in love with him. What a life...eating what you love, feeling the fire in your tummy, and sleeping it off on a grassy knoll. This is beyond adorable Michael..btw...enjoying all the goodies from my Give Away Box...it's wonderful. I'm as happy as your little monster.
ReplyDeleteHa, your comment, Wanda, reminds me of Alex's on IG where she said she jsut wants to hug his cozy soft furry and roll down the hill chuckling all the way! That's kind of the idea I think. You know, lil' monsters, can handle heart burn and that fire in the belly, so to speak!
DeleteSo glad too to know you are using and enjoying your winnings!
Spicy peppers must be to monsters what catnip is to cats! This is sweet even though it's got a lot of spice!
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY, Lorraine. You've so got it! Thank you! :)
DeleteMichael, what do you use for your pencils/pens/ink for this drawing? It looks all so smooth and lovely. I'm getting tired of my high school coloring pencils lol! :)
ReplyDeleteGood question, Rain. As you can see in my sketch book drawing on IG, I used a pencil--BlackWing to be precise--very smooth. In fact, I included two in the giveaway that Wanda ended up winning. then, after redoing it a bit, I took a photo of it and painted it digitally for colour, working up layers slowly with each one with lots of opacity. So its a long process but the affects are worth it if you're willing to take the time to do it. Any program will work but most people don't want to take the time so usually it can look too digital as such.
DeleteThank you! And yes, you're right most people (me included) won't take the time to add so much; and actually learn the various programs that would make things look as nice as yours. I could...but I'm too stubborn lol...I always joke to Alex that I fear change...I find some programs a little too complicated. I would have been happy sticking with Windows 98 ha ha! ;) Great work! :)
DeleteOh, I do get it. That is how I feel with Illustrator (that Lissa uses!) The thing is, people think digital is a piece of cake but actually, while one can correct mistakes, it usally takes longer if done right! There is so much bad digital out there as it is. ha.
DeleteWell, start with a blackwing pencil and you will love its velvety feel. So worth it. Anyway, I did too want to say a HUGE thank you for helping Andrea get up and running with IG for the dailysketchplan2018 challenge! Not sure what the issue was but so glad she is able to join in now so thank you again.
Thanks Michael that's sweet of you. I actually made a visual tutorial with print screens for Andrea to follow. That's how I am, I need visual and I think that helped a lot. I'm so glad she is able to post her drawings! :)
DeleteI agree, digital is NOT a piece of cake so that's why I don't use those programs. I have one called Photo Explosion that came with the computer that I bought back in 2003 and I still use it to do my Tarot card photos on the Thoughts blog. But otherwise, I don't really use it much.
I will definitely be looking for that pencil because I have to say, I'm very much enjoying the drawing challenge! I'm so glad you suggested it!
Hi Michael, This looks like a great challenge & I'm happy to finally be able to join in the fun! Your spicy monster is a cutie (but I would definitely steer clear of his presumably fiery breath)!
ReplyDeleteWow, how nice to see you back on here (Well, I think it was Creative Tuesdays last time but wonderful, nonetheless), Kristin! Can't wait to see what you've done! Thank you for joining us here through your blog and feel free to post to IG as well.
DeleteYes, Monsters aren't known for the best breath but he's all fire and no bite, really. :)
Who knew a monster could have such a contented look about him? Looks like he enjoyed the peppers as much as I enjoy cookies! I'm so looking forward to a nice, warm day like you've shown here.
ReplyDeleteYes, monsters are peculiar lil' things...well, the cute and harmless ones at least. Here, we have snow.
DeleteFun new themes Michael thank you!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMichael, thanks for doing this and getting others involved! I am so glad that I found you on Rain's blog. Thanks for the awesome comment on spicy painting! Hoping you have a great week....I have already been thinking about DANCING!
