Scribble Picnic Challenge

Hi, everyone, I've missed you! And, like you, I too haven't made the time to illustrate as much as one might like. So... I'm ready to relaunch our art challenge co-op... IF you are too? Who's with me?

A lot can change in 4 months though, I know. I mean, we've moved from KY to CA, for starts! Let me find out first then, who's perhaps moved on to other things and who are wanting to jump back in here? If I can get, say, 5 of you to indicate interest then we'll get rolling again! :)

I already have some fun ideas lined up but don't want to scribble picnic alone in an echo chamber either. For starts, what do you guys think of making this weekly again... as the icon subtitle suggests?! I was thinking, one week would be for "concept" (that is, the initial looser sketch idea) and the following for the final "proof" (that is, coloured, if you want, and tighter, although doesn't have to be super tight either as this is a scribble picnic after all — up to you!)

If each of you could please let me know whether you can join in or not, that would be fabulous. Thank you! Thanks too for not only your understanding when needing to focus on other things but your patience in-between as well. In the meanwhile, I'll revisit our last few co-ops and catch up with each of you. That's my goal, anyway. I'm sure lots happened since I was last here in Blogger land. Hope all's well and if not, let me know that too!

I'll give this a week and let you know on Sunday, July 21st, if this goes forward or not, depending on how many are still wanting to pick this up or not. :) Thanks!!

  1. Nice to see you back here again. Been following your moves on Instagram with much interest. It looks to me like you and Alexandra have the knack for making a cozy home no matter where you land and I wish you the best in your new digs. I would love to start picnicking again!

  2. Hi Michael :)) Well, as you now know, I started my own weekly art date! :) It's Thursdays. I would love to join in your picnic each week, but I may only post my entry on my Thursday post or it might all get lost (too many posts in a row!) If I were in California, the first place I'd be going is WINE COUNTRY...have you explored there yet? :)

    1. Hey, Rain, yes, I'm glad you've started that and recall you mentioning you were considering such. Perhaps we should just all stick to that. I'm fine either way so will just see if any here are still interested or not.

Well, I;'ve been to the southern edge of the wine country as its close by and been to a few of the vineyards but as neither Alex or I can have wine, it's not as much a priority but I'd love to explore it more. :)

      Thanks for your input. Understood.

  3. Good to see you back, Michael! Though of course there will probably still be times when it just doesn't fit in with life, I would sure like to give the Picnics a try again. I appreciate having prompts and deadlines to motivate me to break out my art supplies, as well as seeing what others come up with. So, here's hoping there's enough interest that the Picnics can resume!

    1. OK, good to know, Jolene! thanks. We will see. Lots of views but not so many comments so people may also just be too busy right now. Thanks for your reply. Hope you are well.

  5. As you know I'm kind of slow to even start on a piece and even slower to finish but I'm willing to participate again though probably not until September when the heat downs down.

I just think it's nice to create art no matter who or what motivates us. And I am thankful that you have hosted Scribble Picnic and previously the other one.

Maybe you and Rain can join forces and host a joint scribble art co-op or something.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. Yes, I encouraged Rain to do her own one when she wanted to fill the gap so am happy that's working and I'm mindful not wanting themes to compete. As it is though, there doesn't seem to be enough interest though so maybe we can revisit this in September when more people can possibly participate?

  7. WEll, hmmm ... I know I posted a comment and it said "will be shown after you approve it". So what happened, Micheal ... all I said was Yeah!!!! so glad you are coming back and look forward to joining in on our picnic again. And, or Rain's which ever you decide as long as we can all be together again. I haven't drawn, colored, painted of sketched since you left. Obviously I need a kick in the patoot to get my creative juices going ... I am counting on your prompts to do the trick. So I will wait until September and see what happens, but count me in whatever you do :)

  8. I check in now and then and still no Micheal. You pop in than pop back out. I guess you are true to your word and we won't hear from you until September, which is not that far off any more. Hope all is well, Micheal ... and thank you for steering me Rain's Art Meme ... I am enjoying it.

  9. Well, it is September and I am checking to see if you have returned ... hmmm got yourself busy with other things, I see. I have been participating in Rain's weekly challenge and loving it and would love it if you were back with your great prompts ... though I am not sure I could manage two of you in the same week ... Maybe you could alternate, Yes? Well hope all is well and look forward to your return ...
